Sofia Lago

Sofia Lago graduated from the University Lusiada of Lisbon in 2004 with a Bachelor degree in Architecture. She then started her studies in Interior design in the Technical University of Lisbon and later joined the Rehabilitation field under the UNESCO program. During her academic years, she had a prominent role in the organization of several expositions in her University and art centers in various Portuguese cities. Some examples are: Sintra, Castelo de Vide and Fronteira. In addition to her passion for Architecture she has always demonstrated a profound interest in the Graphic Arts and in 1999 she won the Portuguese competition of Arts and Ideas in the category of graphic novels.

Her career path has been diverse touching many different sub-areas of Architecture. In 2004 she collaborated with the “Atitude Virtual” group developing three-dimensional models of the city of Lisbon for the “LX3D” project. In 2005 she interned at Fernando Schiappa’s atelier where she worked in rehabilitation. This internship was essential to her application and acceptance into the Architects Order. During the same period she collaborated with decorator Conceicao Vasco Costa for the “Santos Design District” project. The main focus of her work consisted on changing the image of a renowned store. From 2006 to 2008 she worked for “Esseme- Aquitectura, Decoracao e Design Publicitario” as project manager. She was involved in each project from its early stages until completion and licensing. These projects include a shopping center and a trailer park.

Between the years of 2008 and 2009 she collaborated with Filomena Frade’s group developing gardens in hotels, houses, villas and other urban spaces with special reference to a prestigious apartment complex in Angola. From 2009 to 2010 she worked for “Hartcasa, Arquitectura, Urbanismo e Engenharia” developing different projects for "Agriloja", several bars, client's homes, and public urban areas. Since 2008 she has also become an independent contractor in the fields of architecture, urbanization and graphic design. In 2013, the company SOFIA LAGO - Architecture, Design and Engineering, Lda, Lda was created and where architectural and urban planning projects have been developed in Albufeira, Vilamoura, Almancil and Quinta do Lago.

Tomé Pacheco

Civil Engineer, graduated from the University of Algarve in 2008, began his professional experience in 2005, with Eng. Roberto Laranja, in the company "R & M Laranja, Engenharia e Projectos, Lda", for about 10 years. During this period, he participated in Licensing of Buildings and Public Works, developing Projects for Design and Reinforcement of Structures (namely seismic) as well as Water, Sewer, Thermal, Acoustics and Fire projects, Measurements, Budgets, Supervision and Inspection.

In 2010, he joined the Order of Engineers and was invited to teach at the University of Algarve in the classes of "Statics" and "Analysis of Structures 2" (Eurocodes), with the coordination of Eng. Ana Carreira.

The most relevant works developed are in the area of ​​Rehabilitation. Of particular note are the Road Studies in Loulé (Improvement of National Roads EN270, EN124 and Repaving of Regional Roads VNC 586, CM 1180, EM503), Hydraulic Study in Barranco da Apra, Rehabilitation and structural reinforcement of buildings, walls and of a Roman bridge. As new construction, he made the technical management of the "Verde Minho 3" restaurant in Albufeira, controlling the execution of the structures and infrastructures, the quality of the work and materials applied and intervening in the Builder-Client relationship.

In 2015, he started working at SOFIA LAGO - Arquitectura, Design e Engenharia, Lda., becoming a managing partner in 2016, where he has developed projects for both Rehabilitation and New Construction, Preparation and Follow-up of Works.
